Khmer BBQ Delights
What says welcome to Cambodia more than being served crocodile, snake, shrimps and frogs legs to cook fresh on the our own little table-top gas powered BBQ.
Verdict- everything tastes like chicken but tougher!
Bustling Bangkok
Bangkok is a city of two halves; on one
side, bustling markets, chaotic roads and buzzing nightlife. On the other side, tranquil temples, meditation centres and the calming river that winds its way through the
centre of the city.
Smells of fresh garlic and chilli stem from
the small food stalls that line every street.
These stalls offer world class cuisine if you don’t mind eating at the
side of dusty main road watching tuk, tuks, cars, buses and taxis fighting for space.
The famous Bangkok markets are an explosion of colours, sites and smells...
Next stop Cambodia...

Chilling in Koh Chang
We landed in the middle of the hustle and bustle of vibrant Bangkok on Monday to 35C heat and the sweet smell of garlic and spice coming from street venders around every corner. Excited to experience what this city had to offer but exhausted from our travels, we decided to head out to Koh Chang, which is an island about 5 hours from Bangkok. This gave us the chance to chill out and allowed us to return to Bangkok with our batteries fully charged ready to see what Bangkok is all about.
Koh Chang is a backpackers haven where you can indulge in Thai delicacies and sip Chang beer until the sun goes down on a back drop of beautiful, white sandy beaches, warm crystal clear waters and wild green jungle. This is our first stop and we have already found paradise...
By day you embrace the sleepy pace of life by lazing in the sunshine, sipping freshly squeezed fruit juice picked straight from the fruit plants on the island and if you have the desire, hiring out a moped and seeing the whole island in all its glory.
In the afternoon you indulge in some beautiful Thai cuisine in one of the endless beach side restaurants.
Meals vary in price from £1.00-£2.50!
In the evening you listen to live music, drink Chang beer and socialise with new friends in one of the many backpacker bar/ restaurants.
And just before the sun comes up on a new day, you get a freshly made Pad Thai to soak up any excess alcohol before bed.
And to top off the delicious Pad Thai you add this bad boy.....
When your mouth is truly alight with fire from chillies, it is time to crash out!
Koh Chang you have given us a great welcome to the world of travelling - A true paradise that we will be sad to leave...
On to Bangkok we go to embrace the hustle and bustle of the weekend markets.

Beautiful Britain- A fond farewell to the UK
Before we embarked on our adventure along the South Eastern trail of bustling and vibrant cities; white, sandy beaches; luscious, green jungles and indulging in delicious food that explodes with flavour, the sun finally came out after 6 months of miserable weather to remind us quite how beautiful the UK, particularly the delights of Dartmoor truly is.
Our final weekend in Britain consisted of the best of the South West:
Cornish Pasty Eating
and Pirate jigging
What better way to remember home.
